Need engaging & fun activities to get your students excited about learning homophones? This game is for you! Zero worksheets and very little prep!
In Homophones Slam, students are put in groups of 3-4 (can be modified for smaller groups too). Each group has a set of 15 homophones that are cut apart. The teacher will read a direction from the teacher script. Ex: "I hear the train coming." Each group slaps the homophone - hear! (There will be another card that shows "here"). The first student to slap the correct homophone gets to keep the card. Then you move on to the next direction. The student with the most cards at the end is the winner!
The kids will LOVE this game because they are practicing homophones WITHOUT having to do a paper/pencil worksheet. I have included two versions of the game, so you can play twice. You can also modify the activity to play with small groups.
