Homophones Ice Cream Splits! Use this fun word sorting activity to teach beginning homophones. Kids will love these cute homophone banana splits! One side of the homophone set is on a banana split dish, and the other is on a scoop of ice cream. (Attractive displayable answer key included). The assignment is provided with an optional circular scoop shape that looks less like ice cream, but would be easier for smaller hands to cut out. The words are the same on both sets. Download the free preview to see all that you will get.
There are several ways to do this assignment.
1) Print a copy of both pages for every student (or partners) to cut and glue.
2) Cut out the scoops yourself and then laminate a class set. Students can place the scoops in the correct spot.
3) Make a race out of it. First one finished correctly wins!
4) No time for scissors, glue, or extra teacher preparation? Display the second page on a screen and have students write the words on the page!
Included in both scoop and circular shapes:
-Homophones Splits page
-Cut-Apart Homophones Scoops page
-Attractive displayable answer key page
**All pages look great when printed in grayscale as well!**
