A memory game with homophones! There are 24 picture cards with words. I like to pair this activity with a story that uses two meanings of the word "sandwich" (the book is about a witch that lives in the sand!). We then talk about the meanings of both and how there are many words that sound the same but have different meanings. You can then play memory with the homophone cards asking the child to:
Expressively: Identify the picture and see if they can explain the other meaning. (e.g. "knight" "can you tell me about the other kind of night?")
This a good vocabulary activity and the kids surprisingly enjoy it!
