This is reader's theater with a twist! This reader's theater is designed for 12 readers. Students read the first two pages of the script in their group. Then they return back to the whole group, and the teacher models how to add more homophone examples to their script. (Detailed instructions are included.) After students have been given time to practice to improve voice expression and fluency, students can perform the reader's theater script for their classmates.
This is an activity that integrates reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a fun way!
If you like this activity, check out my "Multiple Meaning Words Reader's Theater" in my store. When I did this activity, I gave half of my class the Multiple Meaning Words script, and the other half of my students the Homophone Reader's Theater. By doing this, both groups had a unique performance for their audience.
This is also part of a BUNDLE. If you like to do Readers' Theaters throughout the school year, you might want to check this out! Readers’ Theater BUNDLE (scripts to use throughout the year)
