Can you ever have enough teaching activities for the homophones: to, too, two? Of course not! This Common Core aligned product (Grade 4 and up) is designed to teach and review these frustrating homophones.
The PowerPoint introduces each homophone with a sample sentence, illustration, and definition. Students are required to make note cards for each homophone to use as references for additional activities or take notes in ELA journals. The slideshow also includes interactive slides and practice. In addition, teaching tips are included as comments on the slides.
There are two PowerPoint versions. One is illustrated with Super Hero clipart by Revidevi and is a read-only to protect the integrity of the art. The other is savable. Both contain the same grammar content and interactive animation.
Also included is a Homophone Sentence Sort in which students must decide which homophone should be used to complete a variety of sentences.
A final activity is a Super Vision Editing Exercise. Students draw a line through incorrectly used homophones and write the correct one above the wrong homophone. This activity can also be used as an assessment.
