I found this book recently on a classroom catalog order for $1! I think you can see get it! This works great for this year’s election. I am using this as an extended read aloud for my third grade class. This book can be read independently in fourth or fifth grade. I hope you enjoy!
This Product Includes:
Vocabulary Cards – The cards can be used on bulletin boards, or even just as a quick set of cards that you introduce before reading the story. For group activities, I like to give a vocabulary card to a group and have them create mini posters to go with each word. This can be done before or after the story has been read.
Spelling cards – My grade level picked 10 words good for a blend of third or fourth grade students. Use the cards on a bulletin board on to review under document camera.
Scoring Rubric – This is something new added to my products. Run this off and staple to the front of the mini book when returning with a grade. Students can get involved to make sure each page is filled out for scoring, sentences are complete and that they learned something! The scoring is broken down for you to easily fill out! What a quick social studies grade!
Before you read worksheet – Use this for independent morning work the morning before you read the story. It works great to build background knowledge. Students love to predict what the story will be about after they had done their morning work!
A set of half pages that for each chapter in the book. This can be built into a little project booklet for students in small groups or as a whole class. Each page will have 5 or 6 questions to go with each chapter of the book. I have found that this mini book is more inviting than a stapled pack that looks more like busy work.
