Product Description
I used this lesson to teach my 3rd graders how to write a Hook (Strong Lead) for their Personal Narratives.

We focused on this lesson once my students had already selected a Small Moment to write about.

I introduced each hook strategy, showed an example, then had my students complete the worksheet using each strategy. Then, I put them into partners and had them share their hooks. Their partner helped them to pick the best one that they would go on to use in their Personal Narrative.

It was very straight forward and their hooks came out wonderful!

By the way-- Max is a dog. :)
