We were unable to celebrate the 100th day of school this year because we had a field trip. So I came up with Hot Chocolate Day instead! This unit is filled with math graphing activities, spelling or word work, grammar and poetry. It includes:
*time estimation (1 day, 1 hour, 1 minute activity)
*spelling or vocabulary words (based on Harcourt/Brace- but could be used for anyone- also includes blanks for your own words) activities
*Haikus and haiku writing
*writing sweet sentences
*mixed up sentences
*All activities include printables for assessment
You should be able to find enough activities here to get you through much more than a day of hot chocolate fun! I used the activities all week long. We had Hot Chocolate Day on Friday, which was when we actually drank the real hot chocolate.
I also used the hot chocolate graphics on my students' desks and they added "marshmallows" as behavior rewards. Earn 5 marshmallows, get 1 topping. Earn up to 10, get 2 toppings, earn up to 15, get three toppings in your hot chocolate!
