Hoover Dam was built by the U.S. government during the Great Depression not only to harness the Colorado River, but to also provide jobs to Americans. PBS has created an American Experience program to recall the process of building the dam. It is about 45 minutes in length. It is not streamable on the website, but most public libraries offer the video for checkout. The PBS website has also posted a number of links for supplementary information about the Dam. These links are needed to complete the question sheet.
This question sheet can be done in class or as a homework assignment. It could choose to do it before or after the video.
