Hop Along with Language ~ Happy Easter!
A 58-page packet targeting a variety of language skills:
*Building sentences
*Formulating sentences
*Synonyms
*Antonyms
*Multiple Meaning Words
*Associations/Go Togethers
*Categories/Listing Items in Groups
*Describing

1) Building Sentences: Students will unscramble words to build sentences up to 10 words in length (with an Easter theme). 3 sentences per page, 5 pages, plus 1 template page to create your own word banks.

2) Hop Into Making Sentences: Cut apart egg cards, put in a pile/bag/Easter basket. Students take turns picking cards and must use each word in an Easter-related sentence. 3 pages of egg cards (9 on each page), 1 template page to add your own words! 1 page with boxes/lines for writing sentences! **You can also leave the eggs as a worksheet page...have students select an egg and use that word in a sentence. For home practice, send home sheets with eggs with or without the writing page.

3) Eggs in a Basket ~ Synonyms!: Use this activity three ways. 1) Memory: Cut the eggs apart, place design side down. Play memory, students must find the words that mean the same. 2) Pick an Egg: put the eggs in an Easter basket/pile/bag and have students take turns picking an egg and telling a synonym. 3) Worksheet: Have the students draw lines to the words that mean the same (lines can curve around the other eggs). 5 total pages, plus 1 create your own page.

4) Eggs in a Basket ~ Antonyms!: Use this activity three ways. 1) Memory: Cut the eggs apart, place design side down. Play Memory, students must find the words that mean the opposite. 2) Pick an Egg: put the eggs in an Easter basket/pile/bag and have students take turns picking an egg and telling an antonym. 3) Worksheet: Have the students draw lines to the words that are opposites (lines can curve around the other eggs). 5 total pages, plus 1 create your own page.

5) Eggs in a Basket ~ Multiple Meaning Words! (same spelling and different spelling): Use this activity several ways. 1) Memory: Print 2 copies of each page (so you have pairs of multiple meaning words). Cut the eggs apart, place design side down. Play memory, students tell 2 or more meanings of the multiple meaning word on each egg (or use the word in 2 different sentences). Try to find the matching words. 2) Pick an Egg: Print one copy of each page. Put the eggs in a basket/pile/bag and have students take turns picking an egg and telling 2 meanings or using the word in two different sentences. 5 total pages (3 pages same spelling, 2 pages different spelling) plus 1 template/create your own page.

6) “Go-Togethers” (Associations): Students explain why items are related or “go together”. 6 pages, plus 2 create your own pages. List of 6 pages:
2 pages of Peeps (2 items in a Peep, tell how they go together),
2 pages of Egg-theme (3 items in each bubble, write the relationship on the line provided),
2 pages of Matching: draw a line to the words that go together

7) Categories: 7 total pages (5 pre-made, 2 Create Your Own)
2 pages of Peeps!: Students list or name items within categories/groups on ‘Peeps’. 1 page of traditional groups (furniture, food, clothing, etc), 1 page of “things that are ________” (attribute based). 1 template/create your own page for adding your own groups/categories. *Peeps can be used as cards (must cut out) or worksheet style.
3 pages of Eggs in a Basket: Cut apart the eggs, put in a pile/basket/bag...or hide the eggs for an egg hunt! Students list 3-5 items per category/group. **Eggs can be used as cards (must cut out) or worksheet style. 1 template/create your own page for adding your own categories.

8) Describing:
3 pages of Egg-cellent Describing: 6 eggs per page, 4 lines for each egg...students write short phrases or words that the describe the items in the eggs. 1 template/create your own page for adding your own words.
8 pages of Hoppy Easter ~ Describing: 2 pages (6 per page) Easter themed items on Cards, 6 pages (6 per page) Everyday vocabulary on cards: students describe the items by telling 3-4 details. Can be used as a game, see if peers can guess the item! 1 template page of cards to add your own, 1 page of game cards. Game cards can be added to the skill cards to make games more fun!
