Start the year or new year off right with this "Hopes and Dreams Planning Sheet" to get your students thinking about what they would like to set as a year-long academic or social goal!
Responsive classrooms ask students to start the year off by planning a goal to strive towards during the academic year. These goals later lay the groundwork for creating classroom rules.
Use this planning sheet to get students to reflect on the previous school year to set realistic goals for themselves. This planning sheet is best used after the class has spent one to two days brainstorming a list of possible goals they may have. Students then choose three goals they believe they would like before circling one they may choose. Then, students draw a picture that shows themselves completing or achieving that goal.
This planning sheet allows for a great opportunity to confer with students about their thinking, hopes, and dreams. It may also be given as homework.
