This is the third booklet in the Hopping on the Number Chart series. In Level Three, students will grow familiar with the hundreds chart while playing with addition and subtraction concepts. They will also write equations to match their hops. The students circle the "start" number and then follow the directions to "hop" up or back the stated number. Then he/she writes an equation to match the hops. In booklet two, students had equation prompts. However, in this booklet the student must independently recognize if the equation is addition or subtraction. Finally, the student writes the related addition or subtraction fact. When a student "graduates" from Level Three, he/she moves to Level Four (coming soon). Each level increases a bit in difficulty. Use these booklets as a whole-class lesson, as a math center activity, or as work to do if other math work is completed. Copy the booklet one sided to two sided, side staple top and bottom, cut in half so that one set creates two booklets. Happy hopping!! :) Lisa Buchholz
