This is a 1-1/2 page document focusing just on the two special cases of linear functions: the horizontal and vertical line. The front page gives the student the opportunity to discover the two lines. T-tables are provided and the student is asked to graph the line and then guess it's name. Once the students are given time to graph the lines and notice the relationship between the points in the table, the graph of the line, and the name of the line, a summary section is provided for the students to make some notes about what they learned and discovered.
The back page provides practice, either guided or for homework. The first 4 questions, the student is asked to graph the line and can use a table if helpful. The next 3 questions, the student is asked to graph the line without a table and finally, the last 3 questions, the student is given a graph and asked to name the line. Key included.
