This is a class activity and worksheet for a group of up to 30 students. The goal of the lesson is to introduce three components of the endocrine system. Target cells, Glands, and hormones.
Participants play the roles of the different components following the directions written on their cards. This is an interactive lab that allows students to move around the room. The main focuses are
1. endocrine glands are signaled to release hormones
2. Hormones circulate until they reach a target cell that the recognize by shape.
3. The target cell responds to the message the hormone carries.
