This unit is perfect for any rodeo/cowboy theme! Included in this package is 8 math/literacy station activities that your students will love!!
#1- Make 4 copies of and laminate the stick horse pictures. You will have 8 total. Glue each horse on a tongue depressor. Write a sight word on each tongue depressor with a different color on each one. Put stick horses in a bucket. Students use the "Horsing Around" activity sheet. They draw a stick horse from the bucket, color a stick horse the same as the writing on theirs and then they will copy the word.
#2- Students will use the picture cards to rewrite the sentence and fill in the blank with the word that matches the picture. Ex: "I can see the bandana." " I can see the hat."
#3- Students will add letters to the boxes on the "Yee-Haw" page to complete the word.
#4-Students will use dominos to copy the numbers in the horseshoe and find the sum.
#5-Students will cut out the wagons and put them in order by 10's. Pictures can be used on paper or sentence strips.
#6-Wagon Wheel- Put different colored beads or fruit loops in a bag. Have students pick one each time and chart their data.
#7-Students will label the cowboy. They can do so on their own or by copying the example sheet.
#8. "Cowboy"- Make copies and cut them in half for your writing center. Students can walk around the room or use dictionaries to find words that begin with each letter.
