This fun winter math activity is perfect for students to practice identifying numbers as prime or composite numbers. There are several different options to play:
1. Print and laminate the cards (and then cut in half, there are two cards per page) and cut out the marshmallows. Students separate the marshmallows into the correct hot chocolate mug: the chunky chocolate composite coco mug or the positively puffy prime mug. Students can play this during scoot, centers, or as an early finish activity.
*As a self check, I write "C" or "P" on the back of each marshmallow for immediate feedback.
2. Print and cut out the cards (two per one page) and have students cut out marshmallows, sort, and glue to paper.
There are five pages for 10 different number sorting activities.
I hope this game works well for you and your classroom needs!
