”Thumbs in the thumbs place, fingers all together; This is the song we sing in mitten weather!” That song brings back warm memories of my own kindergarten experience! Cold winter days need both mittens and warm mugs of hot chocolate! This product includes TWO fun winter projects!
1.) Hot Chocolate mugs and Marshmallow Names: Children can color or paint (we used watercolors) the mugs and then write their names on the marshmallows – one letter per marshmallow. A great seasonal project for using fine motor skills to cut, glue, and write first names, and practice counting by counting the correct number of marshmallows to match the student’s name!
2.) Cold Hands, Warm Hearts: Another great project for using fine motor skills to cut, glue, and write first names! Children can color, paint, or add art materials to decorate their own mittens. Cut out the mittens and the heart and glue to the name page.
More project suggestions (and pictures of completed projects) included in the download plus an example of a larger project combining the two. The pages not seen in the thumbnails are the marshmallows, the hearts (4 to a page), the name page to glue the mittens to, and an example of a larger project suggestion.
