This is a VERY fun way to get your Earth Science students engaged as they learn about tectonic plates. You will use cocoa powder to show students that Earth's crust is broken into tectonic plates, and that the plates are altered because of the heat found below the surface.
I do not claim to have come up with this idea. It is one that has been found around the internet for the last ten years. This product has been altered and adapted for more student involvement and for more teacher clarity.
What makes this product different?
--Included in your purchase is a unique student worksheet and a suggested answer key.
--With your purchase you will receive an Excel Spreadsheet that will calculate EXACTLY how much product you need to purchase. Just enter your total number of students and go shopping!
--This product includes specific teacher directions...no more guessing how much of this, or how to do that.
This is by far one of my students' most favorite activities of the year.
