Description

This activity is an ideal classwork activity or sub plan during a Spanish class unit about houses, homes, and furniture. House Hunters International is a HGTV show that follows a family to a foreign city as they decide where to live. They take the family to three different houses, tour each one, and then at the end reveal which house the family picked to live in. While the TV show is conducted in English, students will respond to the episode by reading and answering questions in Spanish using the provided guide. The episodes are full of cultural references and are a good springboard to cultural discussions.

Sometimes, full episodes of House Hunters International are available to watch for free on the HGTV website. If there are no episodes available to watch for free, you can purchase episodes for a low cost on Amazon or on YouTube (links provided in product).

If you enjoy this product, check out my Dream House Project for a summative assessment to accompany your unit on houses and furniture.
