House System for the Primary Classroom -Character Traits

Sort your students into houses by pulling strips from a jar OR by spinning the included spinner. Then, as your kids move through the day they can earn points for their houses and you can easily manage groups by calling houses! This system has been the single most effective tool in my classroom management toolbox.

The names of the houses are based on character traits that are essential to leadership and success. They are words from a variety of languages and are fun to say in a sing-songy tone. When I call a house, they echo after me and follow the given directions. At various points during the day I can call out, "Cleanest House gets 5 points!" It has worked wonders for me and I hope it will for you, too.

Updated 8-6-22 to include House System "Braggies" that students can wear when they earn points for their house. As they walk through the building, others will hopefully notice and ask, "How did you earn points for your house?" Print, laminate, punch a hole, add a badge clip, and done!
