The twins haven’t learned how to walk to talk, so all day long they just sit and gawk. The twins are gawking at...something they can use to dry their bodies after they take a bath… TOWELS!
Students build vocabulary skills through identification of a set of 35 common household vocabulary based on text/verbal descriptions. At the end of the activity, vocabulary is then presented in a basic manner which lends itself to confrontational naming.
Seemingly basic, Household Vocabulary offers several levels of complexity to build language skills. By embedding riddles, students improve their listening comprehension skills as they process several Tier 2 words. Working on these reasoning skills allows for opportunities to further discuss synonyms. This is a tried and true activity that your students will enjoy.
