Engage and motivate your high school students with this student centered housing styles project! This lesson has EVERYTHING you need for over a week of learning and creating! The three presentations were created with content from McGraw Hill Homes Today and Tomorrow text and have the flexibility to be reviewed as a whole class or provided to students digitally as a resource to explore on their own.
By the end of this lesson, students will have a strong understanding of one housing style of their choice. They will also be more confident in their ability to create a professional visual presentation board. For this project, the only whole class instruction needs to be on day one to introduce the project, answer initial questions, and emphasis expectations, and then just quick reminders at the beginning of each work day after that. As the teacher you will have the chance to roam the room and check on student work each day of the project, discuss ideas, talk about interests, and, ultimately, build student relationships during the work days!
