Pg. 7 Give the Dog a Bone! – unscramble the spelling words and match the bones with the spelling words to the dogs
Pg. 8 The abc Zoo! – put the animals in abc order
Pg. 9-11 Main Idea – How Animals Communicate! – fold the paper using a hamburger fold – glue the sides to make an envelope – cut out the 4 detail papers – write 4 ways animals can communicate – add an explanation for each – put the 4 details in the main idea envelope
Pg. 12 Roll a Sentence! - form sentences out of subjects and predicates – roll the dice to see which subject and predicate to use
Pg. 13-20 The Animal Trail! A game to help you practice sight words – the game has words from lesson 7, 6, and couple more that are challenging – glue to a folder- can be laminated
Pg. 21-24 My Animal! - it’s time to write a report about an animal – choose an animal, draw a picture of it, write facts about it and tell how it communicates – two choices of frames
Pg. 25 -26 I Can Communicate Too! - Write about your feelings and how you communicate them to others – cut the strip with the different mouth expressions, cut on the dotted lines on the face and feed the strip on paper up and down through the openings, move the paper strip to change the facial expressions – there is a boy sheet and a girl sheet
Pg. 27-34 Let’s Write Details About Bats! – write three details about bats, cut out, glue, and attach string to hang
