Based off of the Zones of Regulation Curriculum and the 1-5 Scale
This product includes two different kinds of worksheets to help students process through their reactions to different problems. I usually laminate a copy of the thermometer so that students can keep a copy in their workbooks and use like a mini white board.
These worksheets help students self regulate emotions by processing through the size of their problem with the size of their reaction. This helps illustrate over-reacting to students, where a reaction is bigger than the initial problem.
Sometimes a trigger can cause us to go into the Red Zone when it should not. Sometimes we experience small problems that cause big reactions out of us. There is a time and a place to be in the Red Zone, however, most times it is not okay unless there is an emergency. To help us illustrate this we use a 5 point scale. The 5-point scale is a way to explain your behavior in a way that might help you understand it better. A 5-point scale takes an idea or behavior and breaks it into five parts to make it easier to understand the different degrees of behavior and reactions.
