Product Description
Looking for a way to target the various areas of language such as social skills and problem solving? This is the perfect resource for you! These 60 scenario cards focus on school-based problems that students may face or see on a day to day basis. Each scenario card comes with its own thermometer so students can use either a dry erase marker or a clothespin to identify where on the scale that problem ranks. The thermometer poster breaks down the different levels of a problem and with a little help, students can identify where each of the scenarios fall- is it an urgent problem that needs the attention of a teacher right away? Is it something that the student can try to handle on his/her own? Or is it not a problem at all, but perhaps the student would just feel sad, disappointed or frustrated at the outcome? These cards allow you to explore the different feelings associated with the scenarios & decide what are appropriate reactions and potentially inappropriate reactions. I encourage you to delve into these issues with students and explain how even if something is not a problem it is still okay to have feelings about a situation as long as those feelings are expressed by making good choices.
