In this math game, students are challenged to estimate 2 and 3 addends as well as their sums. At the end of each round, the "how close" score is how close the actual sum is from the estimated sum. Player with the lowest "how close" score, wins. (Therefore, the game also requires students to add 2 and 3 digit numbers together)
For differentiation, students can choose single digit cards and create their own numbers, or teachers can provide specific numbers to students.
Estimation and rounding is always a very hard skill for students and this game makes it fun and engaging. I have played this game many times in my classroom and each time students have enjoyed it thoroughly.
