This product was designed for students who are working on expressive language and summarizing stories and events. This activity first describes and defines a "summary" for students in a simplified manner. Then, students are provided with tips for what TO do and what NOT to do when summarizing. A visual is provided to help students understand that a summary is a shortened version of the original story or event. Finally, students are instructed to create their own visual to help them remember what's important when summarizing. This activity will help students use more concise and to-the-point language when speaking .
