This activity explores how some types of bacteria reproduce within cells, focusing on the bacteria that causes Legionnaires Disease. Students read a short passage that explains the pathogen's life cycle. Then they answer questions and label the image. I made this for students studying the cell membrane, specifically forms of active transport. This gives students a visualization of how the bacteria evade being digested by lysosomes by wrapping the phagosome in the cell's own endoplasmic reticulum. This is also a good way to review the cell!

The word document includes a link to Google docs for sharing on LMS and the answer key. There are two versions, one intended to be handout out on paper, and a second page that is designed for completing online.
