Product Description
Nothing is more stressful than chaos during dismissal time. You need a good system and procedures in place to keep everything manageable and organized.

I teach kindergarten, so it was very important to me that all the different elements coordinated and matched so that my kids could connect the pictures on the wall chart to the picture on their backpack.

This transportation system includes:
-2 different wall display charts (you choose the one that matches your preference) - check out the thumbnail pictures to see what they look like.
---- Pennant Banner Wall Chart
---- Hanging Circle Wall Chart
-Color backpack tags - they match both wall charts
-Black & White backpack tags - to save your color ink
-Transportation Printable - for you to post on your wall, keep in your teacher binder, or keep in your substitute binder so that others can see your dismissal procedures at a quick glance.

Transportation Choices -
-Car Rider
-Bus Rider
-After-school Program
-Bike Rider
-Blank with Boy & Girl

Instructions for use-
1. Decide which wall chart you want to use.
2. Print, laminate, cut out, and hang on your wall or bulletin board.
3. Mod Podge some fun scrapbook paper onto plain clothespins.
4. Write your students names on the clips or print the names out on address labels (this is what I do and then I just trim the label down to fit the clip)
5. Put the clips where they need to go to show yourself and your students how they are going home that day.
6. Decide if you want to use color or black & white backpack tags.
7. Print, laminate, cut out, write student names on the back of the tags (and Bus # if they ride a bus), attach to students' backpacks. (I use zip-ties)

Using the wall chart and backpack tags are very helpful, especially at the beginning of the year when you are not as familiar with your kids or how they go home. I find myself checking and double checking the chart each day, just to make sure. The backpack tags are also helpful in case you have bus rider who "accidentally" wanders into the hallway while car riders are being dismissed. (I had a little boy in my class last year who would "accidentally" wander into the car rider line almost every day. It was his daily mission to figure out how he could be a car rider)

Putting transportation tags on the students' backpacks can help prevent this. An assistant or other teacher can do a quick check to make sure they have the correct students.

If a child is usually a car rider but has changed to a walker for that day, all you have to do is switch their clip as soon as you get the message. That way you'll see it when you check the wall chart in the afternoon. (I don't switch backpack tags for a one day change in transportation. I only switch out backpack tags and change my printable chart if the change is permanent)

I hope this will help make your dismissal time more manageable and organized!
