Do you need to read faster? Are you a “slow reader”? Hang in there and we will take a close look at reading speed, including the pluses and minuses involved with reading faster! Stick around to the end, and I’ll share with you a few approaches you can try to increase your own reading speed.
Average adult readers read about 240 words per minute but average about only 60% comprehension of the text they’ve read. “Good “ readers read an average of 400 words per minute with 80% comprehension, while “excellent, accomplished “readers read an average of 1000 words per minutes with 85% comprehension.
So….as speed increases (to a point) so does comprehension? Yes…in this video I demonstrate why reading too slowly is more of a detriment to good comprehension than is reading too quickly.
