How Full is Your Bucket by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer is listed as being a daily guide to help children achieve happiness. Whether used in the classroom or in their personal lives, the principle in this story encourages children to be kind to one another. This would be great to use at any time in the school year to promote a caring, positive learning environment.
I incorporated the word "ALL" in this script so that readers stay on task and not just wait for "their" turn. This also helps students with smaller roles feel continually involved in the script.
The Reader's Theater that I have adapted from this story has roles for six students. The script is seven pages long.
If you'd like to do a performance of this Reader's Theater, there are nametags included that can be hole-punched, threaded with yarn, and looped around the students' necks for nametag necklaces. You could also staple the nametags to strips of colorful construction paper and make nametag headbands.
Please feel free to make any changes that you would like to this script so that it will suit the students in your classroom.
Thanks so much for checking this out!
