Product Description
Use these adorable reader's responses to "How I Became a Pirate" by Melinda Long to review or introduce students to the concept of main character, plot, and connections to text. Students can creatively respond to the book by sharing whether they would or would not like to be a pirate. In another response piece, students share where they would bury their treasure. There is a outline of a treasure map, a "can, have, are" graphic organizer about pirates, an organizer that explores character traits (pirates), and there is also a "beginning, middle, and end" organizer used to explore plot. Lastly, students are sure to enjoy decorating their own pirate cut outs or complete your own adorable pirate craft! I hope you students enjoy this packet as much as mine!
