Description

As a part of our unit on the 3R's (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and in conjunction with our Nature Education program, my class learnt all about ocean decomposition. They were amazed to learn about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and how all the garbage got there in the first place.

This pack includes double sided cards to place in a giant class timeline (item on one side and the time for decomposition on the other), plus a cut and paste recording sheet and additional cut, paste and sort activity.

Students will be surprised to realise just how long some items do take to decompose in the ocean!

Additional pages are included to take into account regional names for items such a diaper / nappy and aluminum / aluminium.
