This video demonstrates how MLA (and writing formats in general) work in the real world. Using actual professional journals, students are walked through how a works-cited list in one document leads to other articles on the same topic. Students witness how ideas are protected, organized, and managed in the real world. Then, I make a transition to the use of MLA in high school, and then in their everyday lives. I close with a discussion on plagiarism with real-life examples. I balance both humorous and serious tones. I am very proud of what this video accomplishes, but the production quality is limited by my Chromebook and my Amazon-bought, lapel mic. But, the quality is reasonable for our audience. Thank you, Hawk From a Handsaw.
