PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This resource will provide the practice that most first and even second grade students often need in solving comparison math problems. Beginning with the strategy of using a diagram and matching (one to one correspondence) to show how many more, students will move to independently writing equations and creating their own diagrams to solve these problems that ask questions such as , "How many more books are there than students?" or "How many fewer girls than boys are at school today:?" These activities align with the Common Core Math Standard in Operations and Algebraic Thinking (1.OA.1) Most of the pages have limited text and would be very appropriate for beginning readers to practice this important math skill independently.
