### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

How Many More to Make Five? {addition to 5 with part-part-whole and ten frames}

“How Many More to Make Five?” includes math materials for two days (or more!) of lessons on teaching children how to find out how many more objects or pictures are needed to make a set of five. Children learn to use their fives and tens to develop a strong number sense, so “making five” is a very important building block to a child’s concept of numbers. We have included materials for modeling, cooperative group practice, and individual assessment, although materials can be easily adapted to meet other needs in your classroom such as small group instruction, reteaching, and so on. This pack concentrates on using part-part-whole charts, ten frames, picture models, and number sentences to introduce and practice making five and showing how the addends work together to create the sum or total.

This math pack is aligned with Common Core standards:
K.OA.1
K.OA.3
K.OA.4
