Why use a boring worksheet where every child generates the same answers when you COULD use an activity like this one? How Much Is That Doggie In The Window is a hands-on learning experience where children have an opportunity to explore counting coins in their own way. There are no prearranged coins pictured on a page - each child chooses 8 coins to count and record. Once the first row of coins is counted and recorded, the student chooses 8 different coins and repeats the process of counting and recording values. So much more individual and SO much more fun!
How Much Is That Doggie In The Window? was created by Terry Palmieri for use with my 1st and 2nd grade math classes. Please download the preview to see if it would be just right for your students too! Also, please see my other primary math activities listed here.
