I use this PowerPoint to show my students what not to do when presenting. I give this PowerPoint presentation at the beginning of a class about presenting techniques. The effects, colors, topic, argument, and everything else about this PowerPoint are awful, which is the point. When I present, I also try to mumble, look bored, text on my phone, look at the PowerPoint and read off of it, and generally be a poor presenter. The students tend to get a big kick out of this. The key is not to tell them it will be bad before you begin, just let it sink in as you go.
For a great way to incorporate this freebie, check out my Research Based Presentations product that includes lesson plans and a rubric to help students in any discipline succeed.
