Pg. 12-15 Grab a Slice of Sentence Pizza! - this goes with the grammar for 2012, however, also a good review lesson for the 2014 version, lesson 2 – fold the pizza box paper in half and glue the sides to form a pocket – cut out the pizza cards – read what type of sentence on each card and write a sentence to match it
Pg. 16 Quotations! – this goes with the grammar section for 2014 version – fold into a book and fill out the quotes using correct punctuation
P. 17 Miguel Changes in the Story – write about how Miguel’s character changes throughout the story
Pg. 18 Something That Comforts Me – write about something that brings you comfort – use good word choices
Pg. 19 Draw a Secret Letter! – on the left side of your paper, write steps on how to draw your secret letter – trade with a partner – have them read your description and try to draw your secret letter on the right side of the paper
Pg. 20-26 Tia Lola’s Cause and Effect – copy off the patterns onto the correct colored construction paper – fold a piece of construction paper to create flaps – glue the pieces together as seen in the example – write some examples of cause and effect that happened in the story
Pg. 27-37 My Pizza! – create a pizza and write about it using good word choices – copy off patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – use the toppings provided or add your own – put together as seen in the example – I included a poster that you can hang with the pizza slices if you are creating a bulletin board
