Description

This "oldie but goodie" is a great book to read aloud anytime--in the depths of winter,

or right before or after summer vacation. The book is so much better than the movie!

The 41 very short chapters have been divided into eleven chuckle-filled readings that stop at appropriate times in the novel.

Each reading should take about 15 minutes of read-aloud fun.

All have a one-page, short answer set of questions that involve basic understanding of the text, as well as higher level questioning strategies. (See Preview.)

The short essays easily relate to younger lives and foster composition comfortably.

A final essay exam is also included, as well as instructions for effective and enjoyable activities for event sequencing and a story quilt.

Answer Keys for all essays, including the Final Exam, have been added for busy teachers.
