Is the thought of teaching your students about composing numbers make you want to SCREAM??!!!
If so, make a composing numbers monster to show your students, visually, how 2 groups of objects come together to make 1 set! The only 'screams' that will be heard are those of joy and excitement!
This Pack Includes:
*'How To' instructions for making your own composing numbers monster
*'How To' use the composing numbers monster for whole or small group instruction, practice or review
*Monster template & 'Feed Me' sign
*Recording sheet (with optional back page) [which can also be used without making the monster!]
*Class Room Composing Numbers Poster templates [which can also be used without making the monster!]
In addition, you will need
~a cereal bar or cracker box
~piece of card stock
~paper, scissors (and/or a knife), tape/glue/stapler
~counters, chips, cereal, etc.
Use the monster as part of a center too! He can be used as you introduce composing numbers and works well with higher numbers as well (just choose counters/chips/manipulatives that are not too heavy)
What a fun and hands-on way to address and support Common Core Learning Standards K.OA.1,2,4,5!
AND when you are ready to move onto decomposing numbers, use my How To Make A Decomposing Numbers Monster
