Product Description
Haiku poems are easy and fun to write. Besides being an interesting part of Japanese culture, they provide an authentic way to teach students about description, "voice" in writing, and also syllabication.
This 2 page lesson covers the process of Haiku writing with four easy to follow steps. Teachers can add a KT mode to the lesson by having the students clap the syllables in each line. I have included examples of original Haikus that I wrote for my class to display on a whiteboard as a .pdf. as a freebie on TPT! Please download them to use with this writing activity!
