Do your students groan when it's time for Writer's Workshop? Mine too. That's why I created a fun, Halloween themed writing activity, "How to Trap a Monster." This resource comes with graphic organizers for easy differentiation as well as a highly engaging google slides activity where students can type their final product as well as create the monster they caught. This product also offers a descriptive prompt. After they create their own monster, they can describe them. The great thing about using google slides is that you can decide what you want students to do. If you prefer to only do the descriptive prompt you can easily delete the How-To slides or vice versa.
In addition to writing, this activity helps students practice their computer skills such as, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V as well as resizing objects in Google Slides. Using Google Slides frequently encourages the development of Media Literacy.
