Whether it’s for the beginning of the year craziness, days when you’re handed a note about transportation changes for a child, or for that last minute sick day when the substitute is in charge--having a dismissal clip chart is a lifesaver! The beauty of a clip chart is that it can be changed as needed (like when a child brings in a car rider note instead of being a bus rider) and it is easy peasy to implement and then use every year.
This packet contains cards with 11 different ways to get home, as well as one blank card for you to use if needed. I have also included extra bus cards incase your school dismisses by bus number or route number. Just use a permanent marker to write the number onto the bus. I have included 2 different headers for you to choose from with 2 different sayings. There is also 5 different color options for you to use. You can use just one color or mix it up by using different colors. I’ve given lots of options in hopes that you can use these cards in the way that works best for you!
This packet includes:
*11 Ways to get Home: Bus, Car, Bike, Walk, Van, Boys & Girls, Club, Day Care, After School, Parent Pick Up, After Care, Extended Day
*Blank Card (to make your own way home)
*Extra Bus Cards (to write bus numbers or route numbers on)
*5 Color Options: Blue, Pink, Green, Orange, Purple, OR do a mix of colors
*2 Different Headers: "How We Go Home" or "Dismissal Chart" comes in either circle or rectangle and is available in all 5 colors
There are many ways that you can utilize these dismissal cards. You can put them all on one ribbon and hang them by your classroom door. You can put them on a bulletin board and give each card its own ribbon. Just write each child’s name or assigned number onto a clothespin and attach the clothespin to the appropriate card. Or you can forgo the clip idea and just use the cards in a pocket chart or on the board with magnets. Do what works best for you and your classroom!
