Engage your students with this first day of school graphing activity while also finding out how your students are getting home!
This printable bar graph is a great follow-up to a class graphing activity. All elementary teachers need to do this on the first day of school anyway. The graph and questions are done for you!
To begin the activity, have a class graph prepared on the whiteboard or a pocket chart and allow each child a chance to show how they are getting home. Use the Transportation Cards included in this activity! Then use the graph to record the class results and make some great observations and comparisons.
The second page asks questions related to the graph that bring in their math skills of addition and subtraction. The students are also reading and interpreting data. This graphing activity is suitable for grades 1-3.
Don't miss out on this activity. I've done this for years and it has been a student favorite! They especially love the last question where they can imagine a fun and creative way to get home from school!
I would love to hear your feedback! Please consider following my store! Lots of back to school activities and resources coming soon!
