This lesson plan is based on some of the information in How We Learn by Benedict Carey/ This book is great for educators and for students. The teacher’s copy of the lesson plan provides an outline some of the information I thought was most valuable for educators in the chapters. The student’s copy of the worksheets allows the teacher to have classroom discussions, and help explain all of the information to their students about how our brain obtains information. This lesson plan includes:
Labeling parts of the brain
Key Vocabulary about the brain and our learning
Classroom discussions and information on how the brain works
True/false activity that highlights important information about our brain and how we learn
Extension lesson ideas to take some of the discussion focuses a step further.
This lesson plan takes important information from the book, and puts it all in one place for teachers to use in teaching the concepts to their students.Of course the lesson plan does not include all of the important information from the chapters. However, I tried to cover all of the key information that would help students know how their brain works, and learn important facts about how they learn. I believe if students know how their brain and learning works, it will help them with their learning.
