In this Congress Simulation, students become members of Congress as they attempt put what they've learned about how a bill becomes a law into practice! Students write their own bills, elect party leaders, committee leaders, chamber leaders, run both chambers of Congress and try to to get a bill to the president's desk. This comprehensive and thorough activity can take up to two weeks, but can be lengthened or shortened to fit the needs of the teacher. Lots of opportunities for extension, including having student newspaper reporters and Supreme Court Justices. This version is more advanced in that it includes greater detail of how a bill becomes a law in the actual US Congress, however, a much more quick and easier version of How a Bill Becomes a Law (Basic) is included in the product too.
