Having taught all three grades of middle school (6,7,8), one of the biggest challenges I have found is that students have a very limited scope of how to use money correctly. In fact, if I didn't know any better I might actually still actually think that they thought money grew on trees! Seeing how my students aimlessly threw their money around on school trips with no rhyme, reason or care to then be upset when it was all spent, I decided to create this lesson to teach them a little more about the different types of "tender" that they might start to encounter as they continue to mature. In fact, most students when I teach this lesson have no idea what exactly are the plastic cards in their parents wallet.. they simply know they are there to spend money! That was reason enough to create a lesson to teach them about all these PLASTIC CARDS!!!!
Included in this lesson bundle you will find: a pre-learning checklist worksheet, a power point notes lesson, a graphic organizer notes sheet that directly corresponds with the power point (for students to use while viewing the notes), and an exit ticket worksheet.
I am posting this lesson to add to my vast library of successful and previously highly rated teacher pay teacher lessons. As I now enter my twelfth year teaching middle school studies, I can wholeheartedly guarantee that every lesson I post has been not only tested in my classroom but also fine tuned to promote all types of learning. Please read my biography to find out more and my teaching philosophy. I stand by all my lessons with a 100% guarantee that it will work in your classroom just as it was successfully taught in mine.
