So I saw some of these weather charts and stuff online. You can probably snatch one for free...
However, mine has way more options of how to teach it. It also includes a page to physically make it look like the thermometer is actually moving up the scale from "very cold" to "very hot". Not a single one I found online was as cool as this. Plus you get multiple pages.
So what you get is
1 a4 page with the days. These can be cut up and laminated and then put in to little holders/velcro/magnets on the different types of weather on page 2. Or Like me, left alone and I use page 4 for that.
1 a4 page with all the different weathers; 6 total. Includes sunny, windy, cloudy, stormy, snowy, and rainy. You can also use this page and cut up the weather squares to play games with and stick them next to days.
1 a4 page of the thermometer. No degrees or numbers labeled, but has from "very cold" to "very hot". At the bottom of the thermometer you'll see a tiny white rectangle. Use an exacto blade and cut that out. I cut my hole bigger so the lamination will stick there too. Look at the previews to see my size. You'll do this in order to make the thermometer look like its getting hotter with page 4.
The extra thermometer page. This goes in the back through the slit.(Look at picture) I will make my slit large enough that when I laminate it after I slit it, it will still stick. For mine, I am going to make a full pocket out of a clear folder made of plastic. It will keep the blue mercury piece going up and down to stay put. Also on this page you get 3 smaller sentence strips. "Today is __. Tomorrow, I think it will be __. Yesterday was ___." I also added some square icons that look like little calendars; 2 of "today", 2 of "tomorrow" and 2 of "yesterday". Each one has a symbol on it that briefly shows what they mean. You can explain to the class further. I made these so I can put them on the kinds of weather and the day it is. You can laminate them and use velcro or sticky tape I'm sure.
Is one page of larger sentence strips. Good for putting up top if you use a wall or something.
WALL POSTER FILES
Print out an A3 wall poster and laminate it. Use the tacky stuff that sticks to fasten it daily. There are sentence strips, different weather pictures, and words for the weather. They fit nicely in the boxes on the poster. Kids will have fun updating this daily.
I recommend you make the thermometer mercury (page 4)stronger by doubling or tripling it up. with extra paper. Cut around really ugly and fast, glue it to paper and cut out nicely.
