I don't know about your students but, my students always want to know how to say how long that they have been doing something... AND ARE STILL DOING using the present tense! This quick 3 page intro and multi-step practice packet will get your students on the path. Firstly, students will learn the construct of how to arrange the sentence. Secondly, they will learn key words associated with time frames. Thirdly, students will apply their knowledge in structured activities that increasingly give them more freedom to express themselves. I have used this in Spanish 2 and 3 over the years and have always met success. The grammar construct is as follows: HACE + TIME PERIOD + QUE + CONJUGATED PRESENT TENSE -> HACE DOS HORAS QUE YOU ESTUDIO. Check out my other files for a similar listing using the preterit which, will define HOW LONG AGO something was done!
